Ayrian's Family Pictures

What do you say about your best friend's family? They're pretty much your surrogate family, so words seem to escape you when you try to describe them. Crazy is one word... the good kind of crazy, anyway. I always feel at home, laughing, and of course, making fun of every single one of them (which is what inspired a lot of these laughs). One thing is for sure, they're tight knit, and they consistently make each other laugh and smile. It's always fun being with them, and their pictures were not an exception. 

Without further ado, here's my best friend and her weirdo/pretty family.

As always, thanks for letting 88 Buttons be a part of your family (even though with Ayrian being the 88 of 88 Buttons, that's kind of necessary). I love you guys, and I'm grateful to have taken these photos.

The Jones' 49th Anniversary

     With the fact that Catherine and I are fairly new to the photography scene, we more often than not take pictures of people we know, even if we only know them a little. Thus, there's always a certain amount of apprehension when it comes time to do a shoot for someone that we have never met before. We like for our sessions to be easy going and we like to make people comfortable, so we're always worried that we may not mesh with a new customer that we don't know. The Jones', however, were a blast. From the second we pulled up to their home, it was constant laughter.

     The Jones' kids were the ones who put this whole shoot together for their 49th anniversary. It was really an incredible thing to see a couple who has been through so much together for so long still be able to joke around, pick on each other, and still be so obviously in love with each other. Talk about inspiring.

     They were incredibly fun to photograph as they told us stories of how they met and all the crazy things that have happened in the last 49 years. They made us laugh, and then there were times that were more serious with some of the struggles they've had in recent years, and by the time we left I felt as though I truly knew them. That's one of my favorite things as a photographer, to have a connection with a client, and then getting to show who they are in pictures. 

     To the Jones', I truly hope we've done you justice. We loved taking pictures of you. Thank you for letting us give the pictorial evidence of your love and strength for each other. 

Thanks again, Jones family, for letting us document these moments in your life. We had a blast!

Ayrian and Catherine 

Jasmine and Marvin's Wedding Reception

Catherine and I got to do our first Wedding-esque shoot! With Jasmine and Marvin having a destination wedding in Jamaica, they had a beautiful wedding reception for all of their friends and family on July 20th. 

The decor was gorgeous and fun to photograph! 

Jasmine spent some time in the hotel getting ready with her mother, and we got to take a few photos around the room. Gorgeous shoes!! 

                  

Finally they entered (looking amazing I might add), and the party was underway. 

We got to take the bride and groom out and around the hotel for some pictures of the two of them. They are such a handsome couple, and we are stoked about the outcome of these! 

                   

And the groom got a few of just himself! 

Jasmine and Marvin also have a message for those who came and made the night special! They were so much fun and did pretty much anything we asked them to do (which thoroughly explains this picture)... They are just adorable, right?

It was a beautiful and incredibly fun reception. Catherine and I were so excited to get to shoot it, and we are so excited about the outcome! Thank you to Belinda (mother of the bride), Jasmine, and Marvin for allowing us to be such a special part of this occasion!
